If you’ve been looking for the appliance that’s really going to put your kitchen design over the edge, you should seriously consider investing in a commercial food processor. You may be thinking, “Isn’t a food processor basically a blender anyway? Don’t they do pretty much the same thing?” The answer is a definite no.
While there are some cheap residential no name food processors that probably work just about the same as a blender, a commercial food processor is on a level all its own. Aside from a few smart residential kitchens here and there, you’ll generally find a commercial processor in places like hotels, restaurants, or catering companies – places that have to have a machine that can handle big quantities of food without giving out. So, if that’s where you usually find them, then why do you need one for your kitchen?
If you have the space (and you probably will when you see how many appliances you could get rid of if you invested in one), a commercial food processor can save you a ton of time. You’ll likely never have to replace it, because they’re built to withstand a lot of use, and you’re not likely going to use it as much as a restaurant or catering company will. You’re almost guaranteed to get dishwasher friendly parts as well, which will come in incredibly handy when it comes to cleaning up.
If you tend to host a lot of parties or you find yourself cooking huge meals, a commercial food processor is an amazing investment for you because it can handle the great big quantities of food that you’re going to put through it. However, if you’re just looking for something to make smoothies and milkshakes with, a blender is your better bet as it needs the liquid to function properly. If you have the space for both, it wouldn’t hurt to have both.
